Richmond is a town in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, in South West London, United Kingdom. It is located about 9 miles (14 km) south-west of central London and is situated on the banks of the River Thames.
Richmond is known for its natural beauty, with a number of parks and green spaces in and around the town. These include the beautiful Richmond Park, which is the largest Royal Park in London and home to over 600 red and fallow deer, and the Kew Gardens, which is a world-famous botanical garden that features over 50,000 species of plants.
The town has a rich history and a number of historic buildings, including the Grade I listed Richmond Palace, which was the home of King Henry VII and later Queen Elizabeth I, and the Grade II listed Richmond Theatre, which dates back to 1899.
Richmond is also known for its shopping and dining scene, with a range of independent and high street shops, as well as a variety of restaurants and cafes. Other attractions in Richmond include the Twickenham Stadium, which is the home of English rugby, and the Ham House, which is a well-preserved 17th century mansion that offers a glimpse into life during that time period.
